Internet Use Policy
- The Library does not filter the Internet. It is the Responsibility of parents and/or legal guardians to decide which library resources are appropriate for their child.
- Individuals are reminded that the Internet workstations are located in a public area, which is shared by patrons of all ages and backgrounds, and are asked to be sensitive to this when accessing information and images.
- The Library’s Internet workstations and Wireless Access Network may not be used for any unlawful or improper activities prohibited under local, state, or federal laws. These activities include, but are not limited to:
- Display or transmission of sexually explicit or sexually suggestive materials
- Infringement of copyright laws
- Hacking and/or spamming
- Damage/alteration of software and/or equipment
- Fraud
- Solicitation of minors
- Use of another person’s I.D. and password
- The Library reserves the right to tell individuals to discontinue the display of information or images that are deemed inappropriate by Library staff
Internet Workstation Policy
- All Internet users* must have read and accepted the Internet Use Policy. Internet users 12 and under must have a parent/guardian present to use the Internet
* Patrons under 18 must have parent/guardian permission
Computer users owing the Library more than $2.00 in fines and/or overdue materials are not allowed to use any computer workstations.
- Computer users must sign in at kiosk
- Computer use is limited to one person
- Standing/sitting behind or to the side of a computer user is prohibited unless authorized by Library staff
Violation of the policies and regulations that govern the use of the Library’s computer resources will result in suspension or loss of the privilege to use these resources. Illegal activity involving the Library’s computers will be subject to prosecution by the appropriate authorities.
